Angry Birds has become a bonafide phenomenon. In just two short years, Rovio's bird-flinging franchise has taken over the world. In terms of units sold, it has even surpassed the mustachioed video game mascot Mario. Nintendo reported earlier this year that games in the core Super Mario series have sold 262 million copies worldwide.
Of course Mario was born into an age of $60 games, while Angry Birds is the poster-child for cheap mobile gaming. Even so, the stats show that in the 21st Century, Rovio got it right...
