This is the story of Clawin D'Souza, India's first professional Online Poker player (Which is Legal) who first played poker in 2009 when his friends coaxed him to do so with Rs 100, Though he lost the first game but he enjoyed a lot.
So, He started playing Poker on Facebook and after a while he started playing with real money on website www.pokerstrategy.com.
As he said, "I made $150 USD in a month but later ended up losing the entire amount. Poker brought out the competitive side of me. I spent a lot of time to learn the game. I didn’t want to borrow money from my mother (there was initial resistance and scepticism from his mum's side) so I requested a friend to deposit $5 USD into my poker account. Since it was borrowed money, I took the game seriously and in five months I earned $1,000 USD."
He didn't lose himself after the initial success rather he tightened the grip over the game by getting a coach who charges $85 USD a week.
And the story is not yet over as when we asked him about his future plans he answered, "I am planning on working with a few companies to promote online poker in India."
Story of Clawin D'Souza inspires us to do what we really love to do.
